DESCRIPTION:Discover the Healing Power of Nature Through Photography and join us from August 22 through October 3\, for the The Healing Power of Nature Exhibit at the Garden View Gallery\, Family Life Center\, 16349 Chillicothe Rd.\, Chagrin Falls\, OH 44023.  Featuring the work of local surgeon and artist Dr. Joe Blanda\, this inspiring exhibit explores the restorative power of nature through breathtaking photographs of landscapes\, wildlife\, birds\, flowers\, and more. Discover how time spent outdoors can support personal health\, wellbeing\, and renewal while experiencing the beauty of the natural world through Dr. Blanda’s unique perspective. This exhibit is presented in partnership with the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park\, Nature Rx\, and supported by Cuyahoga Arts & Culture. \nGallery viewing hours are on Tuesdays\, Wednesdays\, and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM\, or by appointment. Viewing the gallery is free and open to the public. DESCRIPTION:Join the Community Life Collaborative together with the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless\, St. Paul’s Community UCC\, Federated Church and Greater Cleveland Foodbank on Saturday\, October 24\, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Family Life Center\, 16349 Chillicothe Rd.\, Chagrin Falls for a Poverty Simulation designed to build understanding of the realities of poverty and the systems that shape people’s lives. The interactive experience will bring participants together facilitated by community leaders Chris Knestrick of the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless and Debra Kazar of St. Paul’s Community Church\, UCC\, with a poverty simulation led by the Greater Cleveland Foodbank. \nThrough roleplay and real-life scenarios\, participants will navigate the challenges of limited resources\, access to services\, and difficult decisions that many families face. The experience will create space to learn\, reflect\, and consider how systems and barriers influence outcomes.
