A Lecture on the Mental Health Needs of Youth of Color at CWRU’s Schubert Center for Research

Learn from Dr. Riana Elyse Anderson, PhD, LCP on the practices and burgeoning technological interventions important in the healing processes of racial trauma. Anderson is a licensed clinical psychologist and CEO + Founder of RACE Space Inc. and Associate Professor at Columbia University’s School of Social Work. Her scholarship focuses on applied coping strategies to reduce race-related stress in Black families and improve psychological outcomes for Black youth. She will discuss practical strategies for strengthening racial socialization processes and consider how advancing technologies, particularly in light of whatis known about the proportion of time youth spend on mobile devices, can be leveraged responsibly to benefit youth of color.
The CLC hosts subject specific events throughout the year that align with our respective Community Programs. Our non-profit will also have immersive ways to connect through public events and fundraisers periodically.
