Joe Worthy
Program Manager
Meet Joe
Joe Worthy is a community organizer, program developer, and educator with nearly a decade of experience building movements and institutions in Northeast Ohio and internationally. He holds a B.S. in Political Science from Heidelberg University, has studied at Oxford University, and is a Community Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. He has worked at the intersection of civic engagement, policy change, and community education – with organizing wins spanning police accountability and the restructuring of Cleveland’s Citizen Review Board, addressing the cradle-to-prison pipeline in Boston, and advancing maternal health policy in Mississippi. He is the Founder of the Strategic Nonviolence Academy, which trains movement leaders across the country and around the world in the theory and practice of nonviolent change. He has also led programs focused on youth leadership, political education, and grassroots organizing with partners across the region and globally – including work across Europe, Africa, and Asia. Joe is deeply rooted in Northeast Ohio and brings to the CLC a commitment to building the conditions where communities can learn, organize, and lead.
