Residents and leaders are invited to collaborate on climate discussion on April 11th
Chagrin Falls, Ohio – April 4, 2026 — Geauga County residents, local leaders, and businesses are invited to attend a community conversation about building a more sustainable Geauga County. Attendees will participate in a facilitated discussion designed to encourage open dialogue, idea-sharing, and community-driven problem-solving. The event, “What Geauga Could Be: A Community Conversation on Climate Change” takes place on April 11, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Family Life Center in Chagrin Falls.
The event is hosted by the Northeast Ohio Community Resilience Centre in partnership with Community Life Collaborative, Ledgewood Christian Church, The Ohio State University, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Participants will have the opportunity to connect with regional experts and community stakeholders working at the intersection of environmental resilience and public engagement.
“This conversation is about possibility,” said Destinee Burse, Executive Director of Community Life Collaborative. “When communities come together to share ideas and listen to one another, we begin to uncover solutions that are both practical and powerful. Geauga County has the opportunity to lead by example in shaping a more resilient future.”
The event will bring together diverse perspectives to explore local climate challenges, highlight opportunities for collective action, and identify practical steps forward. Attendees will hear insights from climate scientists and public health professionals. The organizers emphasize that all community members are welcome, regardless of background or prior knowledge of climate issues.
