Poverty Simulation

October 24 @ 10:00 am - 2:30 pm

Join the Community Life Collaborative together with the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless, St. Paul’s Community UCC, Federated Church and Greater Cleveland Foodbank on Saturday, October 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Family Life Center, 16349 Chillicothe Rd., Chagrin Falls for a Poverty Simulation designed to build understanding of the realities of poverty and the systems that shape people’s lives. The interactive experience will bring participants together facilitated by community leaders Chris Knestrick of the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless and Debra Kazar of St. Paul’s Community Church, UCC, with a poverty simulation led by the Greater Cleveland Foodbank.

Through roleplay and real-life scenarios, participants will navigate the challenges of limited resources, access to services, and difficult decisions that many families face. The experience will create space to learn, reflect, and consider how systems and barriers influence outcomes. We’ll also share lunch and refreshments while connecting with others who are committed to building stronger, more equitable communities.

Registration is free, and we invite you to take part in this opportunity to deepen your understanding and explore what collective action can look like.
